# How does Hexoskin compare to Whoop?

### Raw, research-grade signals

Hexoskin provides raw, exportable, research-grade signals — ECG waveform, respiration from the two RIP bands, and accelerometry — with open access to the underlying data through export and the API.

### What consumer bands provide

Consumer wristbands such as Whoop provide proprietary scores computed from optical sensors, without access to the raw waveforms. They suit general wellness tracking but not studies that need validated, exportable physiological signals.
