User Account Creation (via astro.hexoskin.com) & Device Assignation

This article details the Astroskin user creation process from astro.hexoskin.com. It also explains how to assign an Astroskin device to a user account created on this dashboard.

Create a new user account

The Hexoskin team will provide you with an Astroskin "Admin" account from which you can create different "User" accounts.

To create a "User" account, you need to access the Astroskin Online User Dashboard at astro.hexoskin.com. You then have to log in with the "Admin" account provided by our team.

Once logged in, you can go to 1) "USERS" and then click on 2) "Add a new user"

You can then configure the account of your new user's account and create it:

When configuring your new user's account, please be sure to follow these instructions:

• First name & Last name: Real first name and last name are not required. For instance, the First name could be “Participant” and the Lastname “001”
• Username: Needs to be an EMAIL format and ideally should have a numbering scheme (e.g.: mcgill1@astroskin.com, mcgill2@astroskin.com, etc.). NOTE: You don't need to use an email address that already exists. Your participant or the researchers won't receive any email to this address.
• Password: The password needs to be different from the username (it also cannot reuse words from the username).
• Gender / Date of Birth / Height (m) / Weight (kg): If entered, these measures will be used to compute some metrics (e.g.: Energy expenditure estimation, adjusted tidal volume, etc.). NOTE: Can be updated from the dashboard or the mobile app.
• Click "Submit".

If you then directly go back to the "USERS" page, you won't see your new user's account. 

You have to log out from your "Admin" account and log in to the Astroskin Dashboard using your newly created user credentials.

Assign your Astroskin account to the newly created account 

Download the Hexoskin OneSync software available on Mac and Windows computers. 

Open the Hexoskin OneSync software and click on the Astroskin Login section (1). Then, enter your newly created user account's credentials (2):

To assign the device to this user, select your Astroskin Device in the left menu (make sure to connect your device to your computer using the USB cable) (1). Then click on the "Assign" button and choose your user account (2). 

Once this is done, you can disconnect your Astroskin from the computer and start recording data with your newly created Astroskin account.
